"Turtle-beating" is a special term for fishing. It refers to the "tribute turtle" that has no hands and no fish to catch. It originated from southern Fujian. The so-called "tribute turtle" refers to the turtle that pays tribute to the royal family. The tribute tutor comes back and is empty-handed. Later, it is used by the fisherman to describe "not caught a fish". The opposite is "explosion protection". "explosion protection" means that after catching a lot of fish, the fish guard is almost burst.

"Beating a turtle" is not uncommon. Even old fishermen may "beating a turtle". There are five main reasons for "beating a turtle". One is technical problems such as float adjustment, casting rods, lifting rods, and slitting fish. The second is fishing gear problems such as bait, line set, and fish hooks. The third is fishing spot problems such as fishing grounds, fishing spots, water depth, and water flow. The fourth is bait problems such as bait opening and nesting. The fifth is weather problems such as temperature, pressure, wind force, and wind direction.

2. Dead nest: It means that all the fish in the nest ran away for various reasons. It may be a problem with the nest material or the fish was scared away.
3. Water travel: refers to the flow of water at the fishing spot, which is commonly found in live water such as streams and rivers, which has an adverse impact on fishing.
4. No mouth: means that no fish eat bait. Factors such as bait, weather, environment, fishing methods may cause fish to not eat bait.
5. Break the nest: refers to small fish fighting for bait in the nest. It is most common when fishing in wild. Break the nest with small fish is definitely annoying.
6. Floating appearance: refers to the movements that appear when fishing. Common ones include black float, sending float, pause, moving float, point float, etc.
7. The mouth of the fish is stabbed by the fish hook. The appearance of the mouth of the fish indicates that the method of adjusting the float matches the current fish situation.
8. Tangent: refers to the fishing line being pulled out by the fish if it exceeds the maximum tension value. If the rod is pulled out instantly, it is called "slicing in seconds".
